White Wine from South West France
|
|
|

|
2005 Granges de Mirabel Viognier, Vin de
Pays de L'Ardèche, M Chapoutier Facing south on
volcanic hills at the foot of the Coiron plateau, the micro-climate is very
favourable to the growth and ripening of Viognier grapes. This creates a good
intensity of acacia and violet aromas and a roundness and freshness on the
palate, characteristic of viognier from volcanic soils.

|
2003 Mas de Gourgonnier, Les Baux de
Provence Appetising aromas of Provençal herbs
(bay leaves; thyme); generous black cherry and raspberry flavours. Mas de
Gourgonnier is a star of Les Baux de Provence, a sleepy little appellation
south of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. An excellent wine to challenge the finest
from Rhône and Bordeaux. |

|
2007 Monty's Red, Vin de Pays des Côtes
Catalanes Mainly Carignan but also alongside this were
plantings of Grenache and Maccabeu, all of which were all harvested together. A
wine of true character. |

|
2001 Cahors Solis, Mathieu Cosse Surprisingly structured for an unoaked wine: dark, brooding and full
of plum and wild berry flavours. Drink with chunky stews. |
