2006 The
Ruins Pinotage, Bon Cap
Bon Cap is a family run winery lying
on the banks of the Breede River in the picturesque valley of Eilandia. The
river is the vein of the vines and together with Red Karoo (Terra Rossa) and
sandy soils, rich in lime, the area is ideal for growing quality vines. Because
of Michelle & Roelf du Preez's vineyarding methods and scientific use of
cover crops to replenish soil, the soil here is rich in compost, ensuring
premium quality wines.
They say
"our footprints in our vineyards
are the best fertilizer and compost we can offer." Their distinctive vineyards
prove that Bon Cap indeed deserves its name - Good Cape. "Taste the passion,
and share the experience."
Tasting Note A medium structured
Pinotage, deep red in colour with sweet ripe prune and red and black cherry
flavours. Light oak and silky tannins make this wine an ideal "lifestyle" wine
for everyday enjoyment.
