2003 Oaked
Chardonnay, Robinvale
A dominant force in the world of wine,
Australia is still lacking in terms of organic wine production. Happily
Robinvale continues to deliver quality, value wines. Robinvale Organic Wines
was established in 1976 and biodynamic practices began in 1980.
The
Caracatsanoudis family run the modern winery along with thirty hectares of
biodynamic vineyards at Robinvale, 470 km north west of Melbourne on the Murray
River. Designed to resemble a Greek temple, they built the winery from ancient
Mount Gambian limestone that helps to maintain a cool temperate cellar. The
winery is also listed among the district's tourist attractions. These wines are
all suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Tasting Note
This
premium Chardonnay was picked at optimum maturity so it can exhibit its full
spectrum of rich varietal aromas and flavours. Fermentation in small French oak
casks adds great depth and complexity. A creamy, buttery delight.
