2006 Rioja
Livor, Ijalba
Viña Ijalba was the very first
organically-certified estate in Rioja (1994). Eighty hectares of vines are
planted on abandoned opencast mines, where the thin, stony soils ensure that
yields are kept low and the quality of the fruit is high. All wines made at
Viña Ijalba are suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans.
Tasting
Note
100% Tempranillo. Consistently good, this is extremely inviting in
every way. As smooth as velvet it is liquid cherry ice cream with a warming,
lingering finish. The Livor is not overpowering and yet has sufficient presence
to be enjoyed with or without food. |
