Muscat de Rivesaltes, Domaine Cazes
Since 1997, the Cazes
family have embraced the biodynamic principle in their 160 hectares of
vineyards in the heart of Roussillon. They devote great care to the actual
production of their wines, laying huge emphasis on producing quality wine that
truly reflects the 'spirit' of the land. Says the fourth generation Cazes
family "One overriding aim: living vines in living land."
Tasting
Note
Made from 50% Alexandria and 50% Muscat à Petit Grains and
matured on its lees for 4-5 months, this Muscat de Rivesaltes is pale gold in
colour with aromas of lime, grapefruit, tropical fruit and fennel. The palate
is rounded, rich and sweet without being cloying as the honey and apricot fruit
is balanced with a limey acidity that keeps it fresh through to the soft
finish.
