Fantastic 'junior' super-Tuscan, the only thing 'junior' is the price! £15.50/bottle Image To Follow 2005 Bourgogne Rouge, Les Champs de L'Abbaye, Alain Hasard - Burgundy, France This is quite a heavy-weight Pinot Noir, rich and quite masculine in style which will improve with age (drink from 2009-2012). Lovely subtle, delicate nose of smoke and spices. In the mouth the acidity blends with the intense fruit flavours with a light and silky texture. Concentrated and very good length. It would benefit from decanting for an hour or two before enjoying. £15.85/bottle 2004 Château Falfas, Côtes de Bourg - Bordeaux, France Punchy blackberry fruits abound with secondary notes of juniper berries. The tannins are firm and fleshy, mellowing over time.
